Carlow Cheese Farm Visit (Carlow) – 12/7/2015
Date & Time
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Carlow Farmhouse Cheese is a mellow edam style, plain and flavoured cheese made from raw milk from a single dairy herd. The cheese is made in small batches – 300 to 500 litres of milk at any one time. Other cheeses produced at the farm include a semi-hard sheep cheese from pasteurized milk and a goat tomme from raw milk.
At Carlow Cheese, visitors will be able to experience dairy sheep and goats and learn how to make farmhouse cheese through a cheese-making demonstration. Visitors will also get the opportunity to taste fresh milk and cheese and realize the origin of dairy products.
Take exit 5 off the motor way, onto the N80, Wexford / Rosslare direction. About 4 miles further on take a right, the L3049, signposted for Fenagh. Carlow Cheese is about a mile on that road, on the right hand side.
